If you're looking for the best Tony Bruno amp out there, completely hand-wired using the best components, custom transformers and designed to eclipse any of the iconic amplifiers it was inspired by, this is it.The Underground 30 went through many design changes throughout its time of manufacture, until Mr. Bruno settled on a design and manufacturing process that he felt was the very best. This is one of those later models that incorporated these changes--some very noticeable, some very nuanced--but it's all here in this head, an incredible TONE!The amp has not been gigged and is in mint condition. Special mention must be given to the reverb, which is gorgeous, and the overall sound which makes you want to play a lot! The reverb has "tone", "dwell", and "mix" controls, just as you have on a Fender stand-alone reverb unit, for example. I recently re-tubed the entire amplifier with all NOS (new old stock) tubes and it sounds glorious. Tons of touch-sensitive tone, lots of tonal flexibility. Maximum sparkle, chime, tonal purity . . . I could go on and on, but I won't; you get the idea.Rectifier tube is a NOS British Mullard military-spec GZ34 (but it has military numbers on it--made for the British military--the very best). Power tubes are a NOS matched quad of Phillips EL84 tubes, cathode biased by the amp circuit itself--no adjustments to make. All preamp tubes are NOS Mullard ECC83 (four of them). Finally, the reverb driver tube is an RCA industrial-spec EL84 (industrial designation 7189). I chose RCA because RCA EL84-types have a great reputation for being clean and powerful--they don't go into distortion nearly as soon as a Phillips or Mullard set, or others I could mention. That's exactly what you need for a reverb driver.Why am I selling such a great amp? I just bought a 1965 Marshall JTM 45 plexi, and need funds! So faint I can't even get a good photo of it, see photos. Otherwise flawless. The closest pedal I can personally compare this to is a ZVex Fuzz Factory but even more versatile and crazy.
