The wire is long enough to mount off to one side, or above the pedal.It has the original box, papers, etc. It has mid hi and low toggling option for the Beano side, (the three green tone caps) which also effects the overall reactivity of the fuzz when the effects are stacked.It also has the optional pot switch as well, on the fuzzface side, to preserve battery life on a pedal board, and remains true bypassed. (the best option)There is a scratch in the paint on the side shown in the pictures (from a George L).You may not find a better sounding Sunlion than this one.A video sample (stock photocam mic) Not dimed, and tweaked to show the intricate and almost infinate character(s) of this unit The guitar pickups are very low ohms / output , at about 5.5k. The clip was recorded at about 64oF, with low to moderate humidity, and a general purpose battery broke in by about a third. So many toneheads, and a few builders, still seek the stablest old Germanium transistors one could find, and in that search many are trashcanned, or end up in other (handmade) pedals. I had an early (Toshiba) Fulltone 69', which also undeniably sounded very good (I know AM would not disagree), and it was built like a tank, BUT - this pedal's versitility is far beyond that of the 69', to capture subtle dynamic magic, make dirty gravel, or sweet sustaining warm and creamy woman tone, while still being able to breed those random furry ghost in the machine overtones, and purest octavian pig squeal. And of course, stacking with the Beano, only helps to dial in better for darker guitars or amps, and having that range toggle, allows you to subtly capture that suprise high end mirror/reverse harmonic, and even squealier swinetone, without sacrificing blue warmth. And... naturally, it cleans up with your volume knob, and can be used continuously as a driver (Just the very beginning of the topmost clip shows that nice common sense useability- while almost the rest of the demo, shows that in your face, Jimi fixed the knob so it only goes from 7-10 sound- and it STILL isnt dimed, and the first fuzz gain is only at 2oclock, while the TB never even makes it to 12oclock, even at the dirtiest moments in these clips). Plus - in stacking, 'blending' the Beano gain, and the fuzz gain, becomes almost an infinate spectrum of those 'good suprises' (if you are into germanium fuzzes - you know exactly what I mean by that). This pedal is as 'alive' as you'd want it. That's my own description of my personal experience with this pedal and fuzz in general - listen to the clips yourself, for some of the tones I'm talking about, and thats in a 64oF environment with a cheap photo cam mic, 5.5k pups, and it still sounds otherworldly. On a good hair day, at 70degreesF +- , with low humidity, the best/worst damn dollar store battery a dollar can buy, and the wind blowing towards the east at 5-10 mph, in the central northern hemisphere, just east of the atlantic rim, durring a full borealis, it will sincerely curl your toes. Seriously though, in all honesty, this IS one of the best sounding pedals I've ever owned.In the almost words of Analog.man, If you aren't into tweaking boutique pedals live, and experienced with fuzz circuits, this pedal "may not be" for you... (it actually says - "isn't" on the site) but I think one could be missing out on really great tone.
